PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce energy required for heating by the suppression of heat loss in gaseous metal chloride in the process of transfer and to simplify and miniaturize the device. SOLUTION: A chlorinating chamber 1A, in which a metallic raw material is filled, and the metallic raw material is brought into contact with gaseous chlorine to continuously generate gaseous metal chloride, and a reaction chamber 1B, in which gaseous metal chloride generated in the chlorinating chamber 1A is fed, and a vapor chemical reaction is allowed to occur to obtain metal powder, and adjacently arranged. A gaseous metal chloride feeding tube 5 for transferring and feeding the gaseous metal chloride generated in the chlorinating chamber 1A to the reaction chamber 1B is passed through the chlorinating chamber 1A, and the extensionally existing part of the feed tube 5 to the chlorinating chamber 1A is provided with a gaseous metal chloride introducing port 7. The gaseous metal chloride generated in the chlorinating chamber 1A is introduced from the introducing port 7 into the feed tube 5 and is fed to the reaction chamber 1B through the feed tube 5.
