PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a body without causing any conventional problem such that an appearance is impaired while mold cost is saved because, in the conventional method where a long body was manufactured by joining auxiliary plates to a shortest body when vehicles of different body sizes are set up, there occurred such problems that the welded position of a joint portion is exposed and appearance is impaired and, in addition, the mold cost becomes high when a dedicated press mold is prepared in conformity to the body size. SOLUTION: A press mold for long body is prepared as a press mold to press-form open cross-section portions 31a and 31b of a body 30, and the open cross-section portions for standard body are press-formed using the material put in the press mold reduced in length so as to form the press mold capable of being used for all body sizes.
