PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue reading a book while holding an opened page as being opened as it is even without attaching a hand by standing a strut at one end of a body and providing a page retainer at its upper portion. SOLUTION: A strut 2 is stood at one end of a body 1, and a page retainer 3 is provided at its upper portion. The retainer 3 is engaged with a margin of a book, and the page is retained by a weight of the body 1. Since the body 1 is inserted underneath a cover of the book, even if the body 1 is thin, the body 1 preferably has a weight. As its material, metal, glass, stone, porcelain clay, rubber, wood or the like is suitable. As its shape, thinner is better. If the shape satisfies these conditions, the shape is not particularly limited. According to the constitution, when the holder is once set on the book, the book is continuously opened at the reading page merely by pressing the read page between the strut 2 and the retainer 3, and hence reading can be continued even without attaching his hand to the book.
