<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound capable of giving deep hue with both high light fastness and washing fastness and useful as a color- developing substance for keratin fiber dyeing agents. SOLUTION: This new compound is a p-diaminobenzene derivative of formula I [X6 to X10 are each nitrogen, C-R6 (R6 is H, a halogen, cyano or the like) or the like, one to three of them being each nitrogen; R1 to R4 are each H, a 1-6C alkyl or the like; R5 H, OH or the like], e.g. 2,5-diamino-1-(2-pyridyl) benzene. The compound of formula I is synthesized, for example, by catalytic coupling of a substituted benzene compound of formula II [Ra is a protective group; Rb is NR1Ra or NO2; Rc and Rd are such that one of them is a halogen, the other being B(OH)2] with a heteroaryl compound of formula I [I using tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium followed by separation of the above- mentioned protective group (and reduction of the above-mentioned nitro group).</p> |
