PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct errors of starting positions of a plurality of laser beams which are scanned to be deflected and exposed in plural main scanning beams. SOLUTION: A time interval Tr between time points which are obtained such that a reference laser beam is detected two times by means of a beam detecting means 35 is measured and a time interval Tx from a time point that the reference laser beam is detected to a time point that a non-reference laser beam is detected is measured. A start timing of scanning for exposure with the non-reference laser beam is adjusted by using the time difference 'ΔT=Tr-Tx'.
