PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electromagnetic wave-shielding material that comprises the yarns to which electroconductivity is imparted and can maintain the shielding properties for a long period of time without peeling of an electroconductive metal. SOLUTION: A synthetic resin film in the form of a large width belt is coated with an electroconductive metal on one side face to form a face that is covered with the electroconductive metal coated face (5). The coated film is slit in a desired width to form belt-form yarns (4), and the belt-form yarns (4) is spirally wound around a core yarn (7) so that the face coated with the electroconductive metal may come into the inside to give the objective electromagnetic wave shielding material. Particularly, the belt-form yarns (4) are characteristically bored with air-permeating holes (8). In another case, the electroconductive metal-coated face (5) is formed by coating the one side face, simultaneously, a synthetic resin belt-form yarn having air-permeating holes bored is spirally wound around the core yarn (7) so that the electroconductive metal-coated face (5) may come into the inside thereby producing the objective electromagnetic wave-shielding material.
