PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound capable of remarkably increasing the fluorescent ability of a europium complex (Eu3+) and suppressing the concentration extinction and thereby useful as a fluorescent labeling agent, etc., by providing a focal point part with a specific branched structure. SOLUTION: This dendron has a 2,4-substituted benzoic acid residue represented by the formula (R1 and R2 are each a dendrimer having an aromatic ring in a recurring unit) in a focal point. The recurring unit is preferably 5- dioxybenzyl group. The method for producing the dendron comprises initially carrying out etherifying reaction of benzyl halides (e.g. methyl 2,4- hydroxybenzoate) in the presence of a base (e.g. an alkali metal carbonate), then hydrolyzing the ester group in the focal point and finally acidifying the liquidity with hydrochloric acid, etc.
