PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear seat for an automobile capable of being freely changed into a wide cargoroom in response to requirement. SOLUTION: In this rear seat, a reverse face is changed into a floor face for a cargo continued to a rear deck 10, when a rear seatback 1b provided in a rear part of a rear seat cushion 1a supported by a high stepped part 11 of a stepped floor is turned down to a front side. The rear seat is changeable into two modes of a usual condition where a storing room 20 for storing the rear seat cushion 1a in an underface of the rear dack 10 is formed to constitute a seating seat with the rear seat cushion 1a and the rear seatback 1b, and an expanded cargoroom constituting condition where the rear seat cushion 1a is stored in the storing room 20 and where the rear seatback 1b is turned down to the front side.
