PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply a heat sensitive stencil base paper, which is excellent in conveyability, image clearability and printability and in which no printing wrinkle develops at printing. SOLUTION: This heat sensitive stencil printing base paper is formed by bonding a thermoplastic film and a porous support made of a thermoplastic fiber without an adhesive between them. Under the state that Ex (in N/mm) denotes the tensile stress at 2% lengthwise elongation of the base paper, Ey (in N/mm) denotes its tensile stress at 2% breadthwise elongation and M (in g/m2) is the amount of mass weight of the porous support, Ex, Ey and M satisfy formula (Ex/M)+(Ey/M)>=0.03.
