NOZZLE TIP FOR SPINNING DEFORMED CROSS-SECTION GLASS FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nozzle tip which is capable of stably spinning a glass fiber having a flat cross section as high in a flattening ratio as >=4.0. SOLUTION: The nozzle tip 13 to be disposed at the rear surface of a nozzle plate 12 is provided with a nozzle hole 24 of such a cross-sectional shape formed by connecting two nozzle holes having a flat cross section to a V shape. Nozzle hole wall notched parts 25 of a recessed shape are formed at nozzle hole walls on each one side of a straight portion forming the two sides of the V shape. The molten glass flowing down the nozzle hole is rapidly cooled at the notched parts 25, by which the phenomenon to round the molten glass drawn out of the nozzle hole is suppressed and the production of the glass fiber having the flattening ratio nearly equal to the flattening ratio of the nozzle hole is made possible. The discharging of the molten glass from the entire part of the nozzle hole 24 may be stabilized by bending the nozzle hole 24 to the V shape.
