PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-saving device in a float valve which is capable of draining a predetermined amount of water by operating a valve lifting operating means in a valve opening direction only once at the time of draining water for feces, being adopted to a public lavatory, extremely easily setting the amount of water saving, and obtaining a predetermined amount of water saving reliably, in which the amount of water saving is not limited by the opening/closing operation range of the float valve, etc., and which requires low costs as installation and adjustments by specialized workmen, etc., are not necessary. SOLUTION: This water saving device is provided with a weight body 6, a float 7, and a stopper piece 9. The weight body 6 is capable of being mounted to the upper part of an existing float valve 5 and comprises a weight capable of naturally lowering the float valve 5 in the water. The float 7 is capable of lifting the float valve 5 to which the weight body 6 is mounted in a valve opening direction by buoyancy, and a through hole 7a through which an existing slinger 35c with one end connected to a lift operating means for forcefully pulling up the float valve 5 in a valve opening direction is inserted is formed approximately at the center part of the float 7. The stopper piece 9 is attached to any location of the slinger 35c to fix the float 7 at any location in the slinger 35c.
