PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous operation of a printer caused by erroneous detection of a paper sensor by preventing the erroneous detection of the paper sensor. SOLUTION: In a printer 10 equipped with a printing part 15 for printing a predetermined item on a paper S guided along a predetermined paper feed route 17 and a paper sensor 21 arranged on the upstream side in the paper feed direction of the printing part 15, an endless transparent sheet 23 supported on a rotary body 24 provided in the direction crossing the paper feed direction at a right angle is interposed between the paper sensor 21 and the paper S and a cleaning member 26 rotated along the paper feed direction by a drive means and coming into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the transparent sheet 23 to clean the same is provided at the transparent sheet 23. Since the transparent sheet 23 is interposed between the paper sensor 21and the paper S, a paper powder or a size does not adhere to the paper sensor 21 if falls from the paper S and the paper powder or size bonded to the transparent sheet 23 is removed by the cleaning member 26. |
