PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to prevent contamination by putting a specimen collection part into a vessel and the contact thereof with a preservation medium before the collection of a specimen into the specimen collection part and to insert the specimen collection part into the preservation medium after the collection of the specimen. SOLUTION: Before the use of the specimen collection part 1 of this appliance set, the front end of an extension cylindrical part 6 is connected to a mouth part 4a of a vessel 4 and the mouth part 4a of the vessel 4 is closed by mounting a cap 3 to the base end of the extension cylindrical part 6. This specimen collection part 1 is arranged in a space part 4c in the vessel 4. After the specimen collection part 1 collects the specimen, the extension cylindrical part 6 is removed from the mouth part 4a of the vessel 4 and the specimen collection part 1 is inserted into the preservation medium 5.
