摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen storage alloy enabling the high rate discharge (high output) of the battery in the case of being used as the negative electrode of a battery. SOLUTION: This hydrogen storage alloy is composed of an Ni base alloy having a whole compsn. contg., by weight, 32 to 38% rare earth elements essentially consisting of La, Ce, Pr and/or Nd, 0.1 to 17% Co, 0.1 to 3.5% Al, 0.5 to 10% Mn, one or >= two kinds among Rh, Pd, Pt, Ag, Au and In by 0.01 to 0.5% and 0.005 to 0.2% hydrogen, and the balance Ni with inevitable impurities and a structure in which a Ce2Ni7 type crystal structural phase, the hydrides of rare earth elements and one or >= two kinds among Rh, Pd, Pt, Ag, Au and In are dispersedly distributed into the base of a CaCu5 type crystal structural phase.
