PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress shift of dots in main scanning direction. SOLUTION: In an ink jet printer having two nozzle arrays of different main scanning direction, i.e., 0 array side and 1 array side, for each color, both nozzle arrays are driven with a common driving waveform. The driving waveform is a waveform for outputting a plurality of waveforms to respective elements at corresponding periods. For some pixels, dots are formed using driving signals S1-S4 on the 0 array side and using driving signals S3-S6 on the 1 array side, for example. Position of dots formed by both nozzle arrays can be adjusted finely in units of driving signal by adjusting the interval of two latch signals and thereby shift of dots can be suppressed. |
