PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a teaching method for an industrial robot, the industrial robot, and a simulation device capable of lightening a teaching burden imposed on an operator and reducing stopping distance of a line at the time of exchang ing a kind of products. SOLUTION: In an industrial robot, a teaching point to show a position and attitude of a tool 12 mounted to a robot arm 11 is artificially taught using a simulation function of a control device 14. In the simulation function, a line segment of a surface and an irregular part of a work model is detected to easily produce the teaching point and efficiently teach.
