PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator load detecting device eliminating the need for boring operations on site and enhancing safety for operators. SOLUTION: A microswitch 1a and a pressure pin 1b which constitute an existing load detecting device 1 for detecting that load in a cab is equal to or greater than a predetermined weight are temporarily removed, and the microswitch 1a is mounted on a mounting plate 3 equipped with a microswitch 2a which constitutes a second load detecting device 2. Thereafter, a lower beam 8 is sandwiched between a bent part 3a formed in the mounting plate 3 and a rail clip 5 and is fixed in place by means of a stopper bolt 6 which uses a mounting hole in the existing microswitch 1a.
