PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for selectively removing carbon monoxide, by which the carbon monoxide can be oxidized and removed with O2 in a high selectivity, by arranging a plurality of specific catalysts in a specified order to form a catalyst group, and then charging a gas containing H2, CO and CO2 from the side of the catalyst having a higher application temperature. SOLUTION: This method for selectively removing carbon monoxide comprises arranging two or more kinds of catalysts having different application temperatures as a catalyst for selectively oxidizing the carbon monoxide in an order starting from the catalyst having a higher application temperature to form a catalyst group, and then charging a gas containing H2, CO and CO2 from the side of the catalyst having a higher application temperature to selectively oxidize and remove the CO contained in the gas with O2. The catalysts having the different application temperatures preferably comprise a first selectively carbon monoxide-oxidizing catalyst containing a carrier and Pt carried on the carrier, and a second selective carbon monoxide-oxidizing catalyst containing a carrier and at least one kind of metal selected from Pd, Ru, Rh and Ir and carried on the carrier. |
