PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a treatment of samples of grains of the kind suitable for each selecting cylinder, without lowering operating efficiencies by controlling a feed switching unit based on the kinds of grains suitable for the mesh size of each selecting cylinder and the kinds of grain samples inputted so that hulled grains of samples are fed into a selecting cylinder suitable for the grains. SOLUTION: A grain selecting unit 11 is provided below a hulling unit 8. The unit 11 comprises a left and right selecting chambers 16, 17 which are adjacent to each other while selecting cylinders 12, 13 each having an octagonal cross section are horizontally provided. Side surfaces of each of the cylinders 12, 13 comprise netting bodies 14, 15 respectively, each of the bodies 14, 15 having different mesh sizes (mesh width). A feed switching unit 30 is provided between the unit 8 and the unit 11. The unit 30 switches the feed direction of the hulled grains falling down from the unit 8 to feed the grains to any one of the cylinders 12, 13. Further, a control unit 32 is provided to control the unit 8, unit 30, unit 11, etc.
