PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for imparting an oil agent preventing bubbles from being ejected from an ejecting hole of a nozzle, capable of uniformly attaching the oil agent on the surface of a yarn and reducing the yarn breakage by a simple method in imparting an emulsion oil agent on the surface of the yarn by using a slit nozzle. SOLUTION: This method for imparting an oil agent by imparting an emulsion oil agent obtained by mixing the oil agent with water on the surface of a traveling synthetic yarn by using a slit nozzle, comprises using the emulsion oil agent obtained by mixing water with the oil agent heated at or higher than an atmospheric temperature around the slit nozzle 7 in advance and also ejecting the emulsion oil agent from the ejecting hole of the slit nozzle 7 through a piping while holding the temperature of the emulsion oil agent at or higher than the atmospheric temperature around the slit nozzle 7, so as to attach the agent on the surface of the yarn.
