A water-resistant water-vapour-permeable material having improved abrasion resistance comprises a porous membrane, e.g. expanded polytetrafluoroethylene, having applied thereto a continuous coating of a polymer, especially a polyurethane, containing a particulate solid. The particulate solid is especially carbon particles of primary particle size less than 500 nm. A discontinuous pattern of polymeric material may be formed on the coating. The material may be laminated to a fabric, or may have adhesive applied thereto to form a seam-sealing tape. |
