PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore data of a memory card in which error is caused without lowering the storability of the data in the memory card. SOLUTION: This semiconductor disk device is composed of an encoder 3 to divide and output the data transferred from a host device, to generate and output parity information based on each piece of the divided data, plural memory cards 5-1 to 5-4 to store the data outputted from the encoder 3, a memory card 5-5 to store the parity information outputted from the encoder 3, and a decoder 4. Thus, the data and the parity information are read from plural memory cards 5-1 to 5-4 and the memory card 5-5, and when an error is caused in either of the plural memory cards 5-1 to 5-4, the data stored in the memory card in which the error is caused is restored based on the data and the parity information read from the normal memory card among the plural memory cards 5-1 to 5-4.
