The panel nut for a motor vehicle has a threaded base (5) placed opposite a hole (3) in the panel (2). The nut has integral elastic hooks (8,9) engaging the opposite face of the panel to the nut. The nut also has stop surfaces (4) to engage the facing surface of the panel. The nut snap-fits onto the panels.
