PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque sensor from which the data about the fault and deterioration of the sensor can be collected surely without using any large- capacity memory. SOLUTION: A torque sensor for motor-driven power steering is provided with a data detecting means (A) which detects data usable for the fault analysis of a torque sensor, a temporarily storing means (B) which temporarily stores the data detected by the means (A), and an analysis data writing means (D) which writes such data in a storage memory (C) that are detected only when an auxiliary steering force command exceeds a specific value. Since the data which are detected only when the auxiliary steering force command exceeds a specific value, namely, only when a driver operates a handle are written in the memory (C), the capacity of the memory (C) is saved by eliminating such data that are not used for fault analysis and only storing such data that are used for the fault analysis in the memory (C). |
