PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a camera which is superior in portability and operability and whose handleability is satisfactory by fully utilizing the flexibility of a function configuration and a layout. SOLUTION: An image pickup optical system 3, an image pickup element, a recording medium, an operating means and an image pickup processing means are mounted on a camera body 1, and a release button 4 of the operating means is disposed on a face which adjoins above, with regard to the objective incident face of the system 3 of the body 1 and is also different by about 90 deg.. An iconometer part 2, which is turnable within the range of about 90 deg. from a state tightly close to the body 1 with side edge neighborhood adjoining the objective side incident face of the system 3 on the face, where the button 4 of the body 1 is disposed as an axis, is provided. While the part 2 is close to the body 1, the part 2 covers the operating means such as the button 4, and moreover with the part 2 turned by about 90 deg., the part 2 functions as the iconometer where the finder window part 2a of the part 2 is made to be the index of an image pickup visual field by the system 3. |
