PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide navigation equipment mounted on a vehicle which can easily recognize arrow mark guidance information showing a running route guiding direction during the running of a vehicle. SOLUTION: On a display unit 18, map information wherein the running position of a vehicle which is detected by a self-containing navigation control part 15 and a GPS control part 16 is superposed on a road map read out of map data stored in an optical disk device 19 is displayed. In order to detect the running and stopping state of a vehicle, a vehicle speed signal from a vehicle speed sensor 13 is connected and a parking brake signal from a parking brake sensor 22 is connected. An operation input part 20 provided with a map display switch does not display map information on the display unit 18 when a vehicle is running, but displays a running route guiding arrow mark showing the running route guiding direction of a vehicle and the arrow mark guidance information on residual distance. In the state of stopping of a vehicle, the display of the arrow mark guidance information can be freely switched to the display of map information by operating the map display switch. |
