APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR INSPECTING TIRE PLY CORD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently inspect the arranging pitch of tire ply cords. SOLUTION: In a tire ply cord inspecting apparatus, a radiation irradiator 17 and a radiation line sensor 19 are provided so as to hold a tire 6 therebetween and the radiation from the radiation irradiator 17 is detected by the radiation line sensor 19 to inspect the arranging pitch of the ply cords 7a, 7b in the tire 6. The radiation irradiator 17 is provided with a radiation generating source of which the diameter is smaller than that of the ply cords 7a, 7b. Further, an image processing means subjecting the wide image of the ply cord 7a on the side of the radiation irradiator and the narrow image of the ply cord 7b on the side of the line sensor both of which are detected by the radiation line sensor 19 to image processing to separate two images of the ply cord 7a on the side of the radiation irradiator and the ply cord 7b on the side of the line sensor and a display means for displaying the separation result are provided.
