PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extra length part treating device for optical cable cords which is capable of increasing the number of the optical cable cords to be housed and makes it possible to easily carry out the work for connecting and maintaining the optical cable cords. SOLUTION: The extra length part treating device for treating the extra length part of an optical cable 8 connected to the apparatus 1 has a cable duct which is disposed along the surface direction on the flank of the apparatus and in which the optical cable is housed and a cable supporting member 4 which is mounted at the apparatus near one end of the cable duct and supports the extra length part 24 of the optical cable led out from the one end of the cable duct so as to hang down the extra length part. Many cable leading out parts 7 for cord sorting where the optical cables are drawn out are formed at the cable duct.
