A diffuser (1) diffuses all network cells (CR) received by the receiving path (VR) of a telecommunication line serving the installation to digital loops (BL0-BL(Q-1)) comprising terminals. A collector (2) collects ATM cells produced by the terminals (TE) and transmits them to the network in a transmission path (VE) of the line. The diffuser (1) marks the received network cells (CR) so that the collector (2) can delete said cells and does not retransmit them in the transmission path (VE). ATM intercommunication cells can be produced by terminals in order to be routed by the collector (1i) towards the diffuser (2i) so that they can be diffused along with the received network cells (CR) towards the destination terminals of the installation.
