PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately manufacture an immersion lens in a simple process and in a short time. SOLUTION: This immersion lens 1 is formed so that a near-field light beam is generated by converging light beams LB made incident from an incident surface 2 at the central part (focus) 3a of an emitting surface 3. The effective part 2a of the incident surface 2 through which the beams LB are transmitted and the central part 3a of the emitting surface 3 are the processed surfaces pressured or ground by using a die. The non-effective area 2b of the incident surface 2 is the free surface formed by the surface tension of a lens material being melted.
