PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance saturation and color forming property, to eliminate a hue shift and to enhance color reproducibility by using a resin rubber comprising a styrene-acrylic copolymer including a specified monomer in its constituent repeating units and a colorant including an azobenzene dye. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic magenta toner contains a resin rubber and a colorant. The resin binder comprises a styrene-acrylic copolymer containing a monomer having a relative dielectric constant of >=20 in its constituent repeating units and the colorant contains an azobenzene dye. The monomer having a relative dielectric constant of >=20 is not particularly limited if the desired effect is produced but a diol compound such as ethylene glycol or propylene glycol is preferably used. A combination of two or more such monomers may be used.
