PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming device which can prevent fixing inferiority generated owing to deprivation of heat by a material to be heated. SOLUTION: A pressure roller 3 has a surface layer 5 in which a light emitting part including an optical fiber and a light receiving part are provided and which is made of an easily deformable elastic body, an axial center 4 and a hollow part 6 which is formed between the axial center 4 and the surface layer 5 and is filled with a gas of prescribed pressure. The light emitting part and the light receiving part detect change of distance between the surface layer 5 and the axial center 4 and a switch for increasing press-contacting force between a fixing roller 2 and the pressure roller 3 according to the detected distance change is provided.
