An elastomeric keyboard cover for use in playing computer games and a method for its manufacture. The cover bears indicia corresponding to the control commands of a computer game to enhance user enjoyment and understanding. Preferably the cover is molded to define a plurality of raised pockets each having a flat upper surface, vertical rear walls, tapered front and side walls, and an open bottom end. Each pocket is sized and configured to receive a subgroup of the keyboard keys, such as the function keys or the cursor keys. The indicia is printed on the cover in a flat configuration prior to the step of molding the cover in a thermoforming process. The printed elastomeric sheet and the mold are heated together in a precisely aligned position during the thermoforming process.
