PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate PS data containing a high-resolution image by realizing an OPI system which puts no restriction on the editing software and any high- resolution picture data format and only by substituting the high-resolution image for the area of a low-resolution image. SOLUTION: An OPI demon 104 generates a low-resolution image 20 of the EPS format (AliasEPS), to which the information on the original high- resolution image 78 is added by calling an image transformation program prepared in an executing form correspondingly to the format of the high-resolution picture 78 and thinning the image 78. An OPI filter 106 generates PS data B by analyzing PS data A containing the low-resolution image 20, in more detail the comment of the image 20, and transforming the high-resolution image 78 corresponding to the low-resolution image 20 in the PS data A into a high- resolution image 78A of the EPS format, and then, replacing the low-resolution image 20 in the PS data A by the image 78A. |
