PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sheet having scattering anisotropy such that the scattering directional property can be easily controlled and the color of the display light does not change for observation position by dispersing elliptical chips having major axes and minor axes as a portion having a different refractive index in the sheet. SOLUTION: In the sheet, a portion having different refractive index in the form of elliptical chips is dispersed with the directions of the major axes and minor axes aligned so as to constitute a structure having dense and thin portions caused by the high and low refractive indices. The elliptical chips having a different refractive index are distributed not inclined to the principal plane of the sheet but parallel to the plane along the thickness direction of the sheet, or distributed as inclined and not parallel to the sheet. When the incident light enters at the angle along the distribution direction of the major axes or minor axes of the portion having a different refractive index, namely, shown as arrows 33, 34, the sheet scatters the light. However, the incident light at a different angle from the aforementioned angle emits without scattering. |
