PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a KANA (Japanese syllabary)-KANJI (Chinese character) converting device which presents conversion candidates obtained by narrowing down to candidates desired by a user alone. SOLUTION: A conversion object character string 1 is segmented in a conversion unit according to a conversion dictionary 3 in which KANAs and KANJIs corresponding to the string 1 inputted by an inputting means 2 are stored, a conversion processing part 4 performs KANA-KANJI conversion processing, and a conversion candidate specifying means 6 acquires and updates conversion candidate narrowing information from conversion candidates processed by the part 4 through a conversion candidate buffer 5. A conversion candidate controlling part 7 outputs a narrowed candidate from the acquired conversion candidates from the part 4 through the buffer 5 by using the conversion candidate narrowing information. |
