PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data carrier system having communication functions with an external device. SOLUTION: This data carrier system consists of an ID tag 1' and a R/W 7, and when the R/W 7 approaches the ID tag 1', the R/W 7 executes communication with the ID tag 1'. The ID tag 1' is provided with an external signal interface circuit 13 to execute communication with an external device 14 provided externally, an interrupt control circuit 16 that is started, when it receives a signal from the external device 14 or a signal from the R/W 7 and a wakeup circuit 17.
