PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrically insulative composition and electric wire/ cable allowing reduction of generation of an electrical defect part caused by foreign matter mixing or the like in a manufacturing process for a crosslinked polyethylene insulated wire/cable to perfectly show a superior electrical characteristic. SOLUTION: This electrically insulative composition is formed by compounding a crosslinking agent with a polyolefin. The polyolefin is a blended polyolefin formed by blending a polyolefin of an MI not more than 5 g/10 min and a polyolefin of an MI not less than 10 g/10 min. This electric wire/cable has a crosslinked polyolefin insulating layer. The crosslinked polyolefin insulative layer comprises a blended polyolefin formed by blending a polyolefin of an MI not more than 5 /10 min and a polyolefin of an MI not less than 10 g/10 min.
