PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the stationary friction of an optical pickup feeding mechanism, and to realize stability during high-speed accessing by suppressing backlash or vibration in a guiding member or an optical pickup by a suction force toward a magnetic body provided on a base. SOLUTION: During the on-going reading of data by an optical pickup head 13, a lens 24 is shifted 25 in the outer peripheral direction of an optical disk following a track. After the lens shifting 25, a tracking error signal is offset, a feeding machine is driven by this signal, and the lens 24 is returned to a neutral point 26 again. When the stationary friction of a feeding mechanism is large, a head 13 is not easily moved, the lens shifting 25 becomes excessive, causing impossible data reaping, tracking servo shifting or the like. At this time, a coil driving signal is generated by a tracking error signal, fed to a driver, an electromagnetic force control mechanism 1 is driven to reduce suction force to make smooth the feeding of the head 13, and also by increasing a suction force and a stationary friction force near the lens neutral point 26, strong resistance to external disturbances or vibration is provided.
