PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tone sending-out device for electronic private branch exchange, which can utilize voice messages from the outside as tones for reporting the states of calls and lines to extension telephone sets and trunk lines, without making complicated processings nor incorporating complicated exclusive configuration. SOLUTION: A SEL 20 inputs PCM signals from a fixed tone output means (DTG) 16 and PCM signals from a voice message generating means 10 controlled by a CPU 18. Upon receiving a select signal from an SEL-GEN 22, the SEL 20 selects the PCM signals inputted from both means 16 and 10 at each tone type and causes a TSW 14 to output a series of PCM signals obtained as a result of the selection. The CPU 18 controls the TSW 14 connecting the output slot of the tone indicating the state of a call made to a TEL 24 of the PCM signals outputted from the SEL 20 and the slot of the interface of the TEL 24, in accordance with the state of the call made to the TEL 24.
