PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately control automatic dimming in accordance with the combined state of combined equipment by discriminating the combined state of the various kinds of combined equipment by a system confirmation mode, deciding a diaphragm driving control pattern from the discriminated result and controlling the automatic dimming. SOLUTION: A CPU calls on a system confirmation mode program from a ROM, drives the driving motor 15 of a diaphragm mechanism 14 according to the system confirmation mode program and successively fetches an EE signal in the RAM of an MPU 17. After performing the specified arithmetic operation, the obtained result is successively stored in the integrated result holding part of the RAM. Next, system combination data stored in the table of the ROM is collated with discrimination data EEs for discriminating the combined state of the various kinds of combined equipment by the comparison part of the CPU. Based on the collated result, a diaphragm driving control parameter stored in the parameter storage part of the ROM is decided. Then, the automatic dimming is controlled according to a driving control parameter optimal to the combined state of the various kinds of combined equipment.
