PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic hot water filling device which can fill a bathtub with hot water to such a water level as to suit a user's will regardless of the difference in the depth of the bathtub. SOLUTION: An overflow water level grasping means 30 supplies hot water to a bathtub 8 while detecting the water level of the bathtub 8 by a water level sensor 25, and grasps the detected water level at the time when the rise of the detected water level of the water level sensor 25 stops as an overflow water level which is the water level at which hot water overflows the bathtub 8. An upper limit water level determining means 31 determines the upper limit in the set range of the target filled hot water revel in the bathtub 8 by a hot water level setting switch 45 on be basis of the afore-said overflow water level. A filled hot water level pointer 56 indicates the lower limit in the water level set range by the hot water level setting switch 45 as a minimum level and the upper limit as a maximum level about the target hot water level which is set by the hot water level setting switch 45.
