PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption and to attain miniaturization of a radio base station unit which includes a pilot transmitter in a small-sized radio base station. SOLUTION: A pilot transmitter (PTX) 207 includes a plurality of frequency oscillation means, modulation means (CDMA modulation) and amplifier means and transmits a pilot signal while sequentially selecting a plurality if frequencies F2, F3, F4 in time division. A transmitter-receiver (TRX) 206 conducts CDMA modulation and demodulation with one frequency F1, to relay communication information between a mobile station and a destination. A common distribution synthesis panel (COMDIST) 205 synthesizes modulation of the TRX and the PTX, a transmission common amplifier (LPA) 203 amplifies the output and transmits the output to the mobile station, via a transmission reception shared unit (DUP) 202 and an antenna 201. Since the pilot signal is sent in time division, the power consumption and the size of the PTX and the LPA can be reduced, investment for installation is suppressed, and the design is facilitated.
