PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cordless telephone set which can be improved in operability by surely making a quick calling function non-operating, at an incoming call arrives and surely operating quick calling function when a call is originated. SOLUTION: When a slave machine of a cordless telephone set becomes a non-charging state, namely when the slave machine is taken out from a battery charger and turned off (steps S11 and S12), the CPU of the slave machine detects the arrival and nonarrival of an incoming call from a line wire (step S13), and when the CPU detects an incoming call from the line wire (namely, when the incoming call arrives), the CPU does not pick up the line but inactivates a quick calling function. While when the CPU does not detect an incoming call (namely, when a call is originated), the CPU picks up the line and activates the quick calling function (steps S14 and S15).
