PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To call a taxi with a nation-wide common number from a portable phone without the need for detailed explanation of its own position. SOLUTION: (A) A nation-wide common telephone number exclusively for ordering service of a taxi is set in advance and known to portable phone users, (B) the portable phone is provided with a GPS unit or a GPS function, (C) when an orderer uses the portable phone to order service of a taxi with a common number, the phone call is transferred to a base station of a radio taxis having its charge area around an antenna receiving the radio wave, (D) position information of the orderer according to the GPS is delivered to the base station at the same time, (E) and a dispatching personnel at the base station grasps the position of the orderer and makes minimum conversation with the orderer and dispatches a taxi to the point.
