PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a plasma display panel barrier rib forming method, reducing manhours and capable of obtaining barrier ribs having no cracks or the like causing useless lighting. SOLUTION: A barrier-rib material layer 3 is formed on a back glass substrate 1 equipped with address electrodes 2 at fixed intervals, then a die 5 corresponding to the shape of barrier ribs is held on the barrier-rib material layer 3, and baking is performed to form barrier ribs 4. This allows manhours to be reduced without the need to perform sandblast and to sticking and patterning a dry film serving as a mask in sandblasting, as was the case in the past.
