PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mounted choke coil in which the number of constituting parts and the number of manufacturing processes can be reduced. SOLUTION: This choke coil is provided with a plate core 9 at which a bar core fitting hole is formed, a rectangular copper coil 8 derived from a terminal part 81 while forming a central hole and terminated at a second terminal part 82, a box-shaped core 6 whose edge is opened, and whole upper wall 61 is provided with a through-hole 62 at the central part, a bar core 7, and cross-section U-shaped terminals 83 and 84. The rectangular copper coil 8 is positioned at the plate core 9 by aligning the central hole in the bar core fitting hole, and the terminal parts 81 and 82 of the rectangular copper coil 8 are fixed to the plate core 9 by the cross-section U-shaped terminals 83 and 84, and the box-shaped core 6 is positioned by aligning the through-hole 6 in the both bar core fitting hole and the central hole, and the bar core 7 is fit and fixed to those holes.
