PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape copying apparatus for copying signals reproduced from disk media to tape media which utilizes a master reproducing apparatus which directly reproduces disk media such as optical disks or the like. SOLUTION: The tape copying apparatus consists of a first recording disk reproduction means 1, a second recording disk reproduction means 2 and a tape record means 3. The first recording disk reproduction means 1 reproduces recording disks in a forward direction, and the second recording disk reproduction means 2 reproduces recording disks in a backward direction. The tape record means 3 can accordingly record signals for a first half and signals for a second half simultaneously. The tape copying apparatus obtained can copy tapes without damaging a copy efficiency of the tape record means 3.
