PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make executable a proper operation in an external device even if power supply to the external device from the camera side is cut off. SOLUTION: The camera 10 capable of being connected to an external device 20 for camera has a camera side load 16 being supplied with electric power from a camera side power source 13 capable of supplying electric power to an external device side load 26 of the external device for camera, and a communication means 12 to transmit to the external device for camera the information of the order to stop the power supply to the external device side load from the camera side power source when a heavy load operation is executed at the camera side load. With this constitution, for example in a case where an external power source is used for the power source 13 of the electronic camera 10 and the standard battery is used for the power source 23 of the external stroboscope 20, when the residual amount of the battery of the external stroboscope 20 runs short, the power can be supplied from the electronic camera 10 to the external stroboscope 20 side, and consumption of battery of the external stroboscope 20 can be controlled.
