PRODUCTION OF POLYSILOXANE MODIFIED POLYESTER RESIN FOR ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC TONER AND ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC TONER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the environmental stability of the quantity of electric charges, to attain adaptation to a heat roll fixing system and to improve image quality by using a polysiloxane modified polyester resin produced by allowing a polyester resin to react with a polysiloxane having a hydroxyl group bonding to a silicon atom and/or a hydrolyzable group bonding to a silicon atom. SOLUTION: A polyester resin A is allowed to react with a polysiloxane B having a hydroxyl group bonding to a silicon atom (silanol group) and/or a hydrolyzable group bonding to a silicon atom to produce the objective polysiloxane modified polyester resin for an electrophotographic toner. This polysiloxane modified polyester resin may be any modified polyester obtained by bonding the polysiloxane B to the polyester resin A and the production method is not particularly limited. The polyester resin A may be prepared by a known method using known starting materials.
